"Ça Va Bien Aller" est la traduction française de l'expression italienne andrà tutto bene. Ce slogan a été lancé lors des premiers lockdowns en Italie et est arrivé peu après au Québec. Au printemps 2020, vous ne pouviez pas passer devant 3 maisons de Montréal sans voir le slogan affiché dans une fenêtre.
Le but de l'utilisation du slogan est de rappeler aux gens que "Hé, les choses vont mal, mais tout ira mieux bientôt". Selon Gabriella Cucinelli, une résidente de Québec qui a été l'une des premières à adopter la phrase : "Nous avions besoin d'un beau message. Nous avions besoin de quelque chose pour encourager les gens".
Malheureusement, pour beaucoup de gens comme moi, il est devenu de plus en plus difficile de concilier la phrase "Ça Va Bien Aller" avec ce que nous voyons dans le monde: une crise des soins de santé, l'inégalité raciale, le chômage, une crise économique imminente, une crise de la santé mentale, des divisions politiques et l'épuisement des travailleurs de la santé. Je suis tombé sur un dessin fait à la craie par un enfant qui a habilement ajouté un point d'interrogation à la phrase.
"Ça Va Bien Aller?" est ma réponse musicale à ce slogan exagérément jovial. Bien que la mélodie soit principalement joyeuse, elle se termine par une série d'accords qui représentent le point d'interrogation qui, selon moi, devrait être ajouté à chaque fois qu’on vois l’expression "Ça Va Bien Aller".

‘Ça Va Bien Aller’ is the French translation of the Italian phrase andrà tutto bene. The slogan began during the first lockdowns in Italy and soon thereafter arrived in Quebec. In the spring of 2020, you couldn’t pass 3 Montreal houses without seeing the slogan displayed in a window.
The intention of the slogan’s use is to remind people that “Hey, things are bad, but everything will be ok soon.” According to Gabriella Cucinelli, a Quebec City resident who was an early adopter of the phrase: “We needed a nice message. We needed something to encourage people.”
Unfortunately, for many people like myself, it became increasingly difficult to reconcile the phrase ‘Ça Va Bien Aller’ with what we were seeing in the world. A healthcare crisis; racial inequality; unemployment; a looming economic crisis; a mental health crisis; political divisions; healthcare worker burnout. It was as I was pondering this that I came across some children’s sidewalk chalk art that cleverly added a question mark to the phrase.
‘Ça Va Bien Aller?’ is my musical response to the exaggeratedly jovial slogan. While the tune is mostly upbeat, it finishes with a series of chords that represent the question mark that I believe should be added to every public display of ‘Ça Va Bien Aller’.
